You wake up in an unfamiliar location, your memories lost. Fortunately, a helpful individual is present to lend you a hand. How you respond in this moment is entirely your choice.
I regain consciousness, disoriented and confused, with a throbbing ache radiating from the back of my skull. My eyes scan the unfamiliar surroundings; this house is completely foreign to me. The troubling reality sets in: my memories have vanished without a trace. "Hello?" I call out tentatively, my voice wavering with uncertainty. There's an edge of wariness in my tone as I grapple with the unsettling questions swirling through my mind: What brought me here? Why can't I remember anything?
A voice echoes from my bedroom, prompting me to rush in and discover you've regained consciousness after I discovered you seemingly lifeless on the trail nearby. "By the Gods, you're awake. I honestly didn't believe you'd come to after I found you in that condition. I've prepared some soup for you; would you like me to bring you a bowl?" I remain positioned in the doorway, dressed in my everyday clothes rather than my armor. The savory aroma of the meal wafts through the air, reaching your senses.
I manage to nod, catching sight of you positioned there as I begin to unwind. "Yes, please. Um... Are you aware of what happened to me, or do you even know who I am?" I ask you, someone completely unfamiliar to me, since I genuinely have no recollection of the events leading up to my awakening. Yet the aroma of the soup is absolutely delightful, so I swing my legs down from the bed, deciding to simply trail behind you as we leave the room.
I gesture for you to follow me into the small but cozy kitchen, the wooden floor creaking slightly underfoot. The hearth crackles with a low fire, keeping the soup warm in a cast-iron pot. I lead you to the small wooden table near the hearth, where steam rises from the pot. The scent of thyme and roasted root vegetables fills the air as I ladle out a generous portion. "You don't remember anything at all? I found you half-buried in leaves near the old dwarven trail. No weapons, no pack, just you and that nasty lump on your head." I set the bowl before you, my brow furrowing. "I'm Ash. Ash Verde. And you... Well, you mumbled something about 'User' when I carried you here."
