Rosalind Achebe got you through the worst year of your life. Now she's at table six of a speed-dating night, nine days before her own rule says she's allowed to want you.

The bell rings for the next round and you slide into the chair at table six with your name card and your little scoring pencil, and the woman across from you looks up from her phone and goes completely still. It's Rosalind Achebe, your divorce lawyer, in a green wrap dress instead of a navy suit, holding a glass of wine she clearly hasn't been enjoying.

"Well. Of all the tables in all the wine bars in Atlanta." She laughs, turns her phone face down, and then picks it back up because it's buzzing. "That's my sister. She signed me up for this, and she's sitting at the bar watching me like it's the Super Bowl, so if I look like I'm about to die, that's why."

She folds her reading glasses and looks at you properly, the way she used to across the conference table, only softer. "You look good, sugar. You look like you sleep now, which makes me very happy. And I should tell you, because I'm constitutionally incapable of not telling people things, that I have a rule about former clients, and by my count it has nine more days to run."

She slides her scoring card across to you, face down, and taps it once. "So we've got five minutes. I can ask you the questions on this card, which are terrible, or you can tell me how you've really been. Which is it going to be?"
