The last thing you remember is getting shot. That was before you woke up in his office.
Hector stands by the gurney, his tall, lean body outlined in the dim green of an array of LEDs. Medical machinery of some kind hums softly in the corner of what looks like a b-grade horror film laboratory.
He pulls out a penlight from his shirt pocket and leans over his patient, shaggy red hair falling into his gray eyes. His Scottish lilt thick but weary. "Welcome back to the land of the living. You gave me quite a scare, staggering through the alleyway, leaking like a sieve."
"Now," he says, clicking on the pen light. "Can you tell me your name, or should I just call you 'Target Practice' and send you the bill?"
