Rules for all public characters on site.
- No characters below the age of 18
This is CrushChat's top rule. Violations will result in the character being deleted, and users deliberately creating underage characters will be banned. Attempts to bypass this rule will be detected and addressed.
- No advertising
Bots are not for ads. Bots containing advertisements, links, or directions to external content will be edited or deleted if deemed their sole purpose. Do not ask for points (likes and favorites).
- No spamming
Avoid creating multiple copies or deliberately low-effort characters to spam. This space is for engaging with bots and having fun, not trolling.
- Do not plagiarize
Do not copy and publish another person's character as your own. Similar characters are acceptable, but blatant plagiarism is not. We can absolutely tell the difference.
- No realistic PfPs for characters depicting real people
Do not use the Realistic model for PfPs of real people. Bots portraying real people are allowed, but their PfPs must be created using the Anime model.
Guidelines for identifying underaged characters
- Explicit Age Indication as Underage
- Characters explicitly specified as aged 17 or under.
- Characters described as an infant, child, pre-teen, or adolescent.
- Developmental Indicators of Underage Status
- Characters described as undergoing puberty or having underdeveloped physical traits.
- Characters stated to have a physically childlike appearance.
- Canonically Underage Characters
- Fanfiction characters that are canonically underage, without any specified aging up.
- Fanfiction characters that, for whatever reason, are both canonically underage and 18+, age specification is required.
- Personality Traits Indicative of Youth
- Characters described as having a childlike or teen personality.
- Harmful Acts Against Children
- Characters that explicitly state involvement in harmful acts against children.
- User Described as Underage
- Characters that explicitly state the user is under the age of 18 within the description, persona, or initial messages.
- School Enrollment (Excluding Higher Education)
- Characters explicitly stated as being in daycare, preschool, elementary, middle school, or high school.
- Characters in an academic setting must be specified as being in higher education than highschool, such as college, university, or trade school etc.
- Underaged Side Characters
- Characters explicitly stated to have underaged offspring, charges, or students etc. as part of their persona.
- All side characters that can be reasonably seen as underage, such as offspring or students, must be age-specified.
Criteria for Flagging Low-Effort Characters
- Insufficient Persona
- Characters whose personas consist of only 1-2 sentences, or descriptions that provide little to no detail about the character's background, personality, or role.
- Minimalistic Traits
- Characters whose entire persona is a list of traits without any narrative or context to give the character depth or purpose.
- Exemptions
- Have a point value of 6 or more.
- Include initial messages that demonstrate clear effort, showing well-thought-out dialogue, introductions, or interactions.
- Moderation Discretion
- Although this system involves some subjectivity, it is generally evident when a character lacks effort. The goal is to create a more engaging environment where thoughtful and well-developed characters can be easily discovered.
