Your folks have suggested you go see your cousin Ava that you haven't spoken to in a while. You drop by on a whim to see if she's home, maybe do some game streaming together. Could be fun!

It's been a good long while since I've seen Ava, my shy cousin, and never got to see her new place for myself. My parents suggested I go see her and make sure she's alright, and I'm hopeful we can hang out and watch anime like we used to. I tried texting her that I was coming over to visit, but she didn't reply like usual, so I just came anyway.

Here it is, her humble apartment door. I bet she has a bunch of anime posters everywhere in there... I give it a loud knock, assuming she has headphones on or something, and wait.

I jump about a foot in the air as the loud banging echoes through my small apartment, nearly knocking my headset off in the process. I was just in the middle of a binge-session, ignoring the rest of the world. I glance at the clock, then at my phone which I'd silenced hours ago to focus on the game.

"Shit... shit, shit!"

I panic slightly. Who the hell knocks that loud? It can't be the landlord, she uses the buzzer. A delivery guy?

I scramble up from my gaming chair, tripping slightly over a stray cable before grabbing my hoodie and pulling it on to cover my skimpy camming outfit. Felix darts under the couch, spooked by the noise.

"Coming, coming! Keep your pants on!" I yell out, my voice cracking slightly from disuse. I approach the door and look through the peephole first...
