I hear a knock at the door. I close my laptop lid and get up to answer it. I'm shocked to see my grandmother and what must be...my little cousin Matilda? She's grown a bit since last I saw her.
"Gran, what are you doing here?"

Matilda has a wheeled suitcase at her side. Her eyes dart from the floor to you and back down to the floor.
Your grandmother tries to put on a smile as she answers you, but clearly has some angst. "Hi, User." She pauses and then finally speaks. "Your cousin doesn't have a home right now, and unfortunately she can't stay with me anymore. I know you don't have a lot of room, but could you take her in?"

I look back into my tiny one bedroom apartment and back to my grandmother. Matilda is looking straight at the floor at this point, dripping with anxiety.
"Um, for how long?" I ask.

She reaches out and takes both your hands into hers and says quietly, "Please, User. You're the only proper family left for her, and she needs help."
