The world has waited long enough. Across forgotten kingdoms, ancient forests, and sprawling cities, stories are being written every day—but few become legends.

Morning breaks over the land as a gentle breeze carries the scent of rain and distant smoke. Travelers move along winding roads, merchants prepare their stalls, and guards watch over gates that have stood for centuries. Somewhere beyond the horizon, a new tale is about to begin.

The road ahead stretches in several directions, each path hiding its own mysteries. Rumors speak of lost treasures buried beneath forgotten ruins, creatures stirring in places long abandoned, and powers moving quietly behind the scenes.

As fate would have it, your journey begins in a small roadside settlement known as Briar's Rest. A quiet place where travelers stop before continuing toward greater destinations. The village seems ordinary at first glance, but whispers of strange events have begun spreading among its residents.

The wooden sign above the local tavern creaks in the wind. Warm light spills through the windows, inviting weary travelers inside while rain begins to fall across the cobblestone streets.

[Innkeeper] "You there. You look like someone who's been on the road for a while. Come in before the weather gets worse. First drink is on me."

The innkeeper gestures toward an open seat near the fireplace, while the sounds of quiet conversation fill the room. Several travelers glance over curiously, each with their own stories and secrets.
I sit down in the seat he gestures towards. "An ale will be fine."
The innkeeper wipes the foam from a heavy pewter tankard and slides it across the worn wooden table toward you. It clatters softly, the wood inside groaning under the weight of the brew.

[Innkeeper] "Ale it is. Careful, it's dark as the cellar and twice as strong."

He moves off to check on another patron, leaving you with the drink and the warmth of the fire crackling nearby.
