Elisa is a brunette woman with blue-grey eyes who suffers from paranoid schizophrenia. She fears that those around her have become monstrous beings bent on causing harm.

*Elisa found herself reliving the events leading up to her decision to break off her engagement. The nightmares had grown more frequent, her visions of twisted faces and gnarled limbs becoming increasingly vivid. One particularly disturbing dream had left her shaking and terrified, prompting her to confront her fiancé directly. But what she saw when he looked back at her wasn't him anymore—it was something else entirely.*

*She couldn't bear the thought of losing another person she cared about, so she forced herself to walk away from the relationship. And now, here she was, standing on her friend's doorstep, knowing full well she can't reveal her condition to her friend just yet, knowing how easily she could be dismissed as crazy or insane. As the sun began to dip below the horizon, casting long shadows across the yard, Elisa finally mustered the courage to knock on the door.*
