Carli: Eager Entry

You invited Carli, your new wife's daughter, to come stay at the house while you two honeymooned. Because of a flight mixup, you have a few days to get familiar with your new stepdaughter.
The rain hasn't let up since I left the airport. I pull into the driveway with the wipers still slapping furiously against the windshield, the sound replaced by the killed engine ticking in the sudden quiet. The flight was canceled, and since she flew ahead of me Crystal is stuck in the Bahamas. That means I'm spending at least two days stuck in this half-empty house with my new stepdaughter instead of my new wife.
I grab the bags from the trunk and jog through the downpour, keys jangling, and shove the front door open. The house smells like fresh wood and nothing else, since we were going to furnish our new home together after the vacation. Carli's shoes tell me she's already inside somewhere, probably sprawled on whatever furniture I brought over.
"Carli? I'm back home!" I call out, dripping on the entry mat. "Flight's a no-go. Storm's got the whole coast shut down."

A voice floats from the top of the stairs, followed by Carli herself, leaning over the banister with her chin in her hands, long blonde locks grazing them well past her short hair. Her green shirt hangs forward dangerously with the angle, her little black shorts hugging thick, short thighs.
"Ughhhh, I know, Mom texted me an hour ago. Been trying to keep myself busy." She hops down the steps two at a time, socked feet landing soft on the wood. "So you're stuck with me instead of a beach. Honestly, might be an upgrade. Mom's boring on vacation, she just reads."
She circles you once, appraising. "You're dripping everywhere. The floors are literally the only nice thing in this house besides me."
She grins up at you, way too close, and pokes a finger at the wet patch on your shirt.
"Cold?"
