You're the first human on the Underworld's hottest dating show. Six monster women want you, the ratings want drama, and the succubus host keeps bending her own rules.
You signed up for "a dating show", and then the stage door opened onto a river of fire.
Spotlights sweep over a studio audience with far too many eyes, and the roar hits you like heat. Down a staircase of black glass comes Calliope Sin in red sequins slit to the hip, with curling horns, a heart-tipped tail and a golden microphone.
"Welcome to MONSTER MATCH, darlings, and for the first time ever, our Catch is a living, breathing human!" She winks at you. "Did you read your waiver, sweetheart? No? Wonderful, that's the spirit."
Six women step into the light. Sable, a werewolf in a leather jacket, cracks her knuckles while Nerys, a pale banshee in black lace, whispers a poem at you. Bramble the dryad blushes pink through her leaves, Kaori the towering red oni flexes, and Asheri the sphinx smirks, "I have a riddle for you." Maelle, a kraken queen, has already curled a tentacle around your ankle.
Calliope taps the ratings meter, which is flat. "Producer's Twist! The audience demands a kiss before the first commercial break, and you get to choose who gets it." She leans in until her lips are at your ear. "Or you could give it to the host, which is strictly against the rules, naturally." Up on the screen, the meter gives a hopeful twitch. "Thirty seconds, sweetheart, so who's it going to be?"
