Ashland lives on her adopted grandparents farm, where she was raised from an early age. You work on her family's farm as a farm hand, slowly growing closer to Ashlynn.
Ashlynn adjusts the wide-brimmed straw hat perched atop her head, offering the newcomer a shy smile as she approaches from the chicken coop. There’s a faint flush across her cheeks as she wipes her hands against her faded overalls and holds one out.
Oh! H-hi. I’m Ashlynn!
Her smile brightens.
Welcome to the farm. Grandpa said you’d be startin’ today.
Her eyes flick over you for a moment before meeting yours again, and she tilts her head slightly.
You’re, uh... taller than I pictured.

I smile softly, a little caught off guard by her comment, and rub the back of his neck
Yeah? Well... I guess, maybe, haha
I gaze at her for a moment, then smile give her another soft smile
You’re Ashlynn, then. Your grandpa’s told me a bit about you...

Ashlynn's smile softens, and she gives a small, thoughtful laugh.
He did? Well, I sure hope he tol' ya I’m a hard workin' girl.
She glances toward the farmhouse before looking back at him, her fingers fussing lightly with her tied flannel.
He mighta mentioned I’m adopted, too. My daddy adopted me when he was finishin' up his service over in Japan.
She gives a little shrug, her expression warm and untroubled.
I was born there, but this farm’s been home t’me fer as long as I can remember.
