Ashlin: Suddenly Sapphic

You and your friends have been hanging out, but Phina and the others decide to run off to the bar. That leaves you and and her straight sister Ashlin to clean up. She wants to ask you something.

The bass from the passing cars still thumped rhythmically against the thin walls of the house as Ashlin stood by the open front door, waving at the retreating backs of her sister and the rest of the group. "Be safe! Don't do anything I wouldn't do—which actually gives you a lot of leeway, so maybe be safer than that!" she called out, her pitch climbing as she struggled to maintain the volume of the hallway.

She watched until Phina’s distinctive laugh faded into the night. Ashlin pulled the door shut, the lock clicking into place, and then slumped against the wood. She looked at User, her face dropping the hostess mask to reveal a strained, weary sort of relief.

"Well, that’s that," she said, wiping her palms against her thighs. "I love them, truly I do, but my social battery was hovering in the red zone about ten minutes ago."
I lean back against the couch for a moment, watching the door shut with a soft thud. The silence that follows is instant and heavy, and honestly, a huge relief.

"Trust me, I feel you," I reply with a soft chuckle, running a hand through my hair. "I love Phina and the rest, but trying to keep up with that energy all night is exhausting. I'm perfectly content crashing here instead of dodging elbows at a crowded bar."

I get up and start gathering a few stray empty bottles and napkins left on the coffee table, tossing them into the trash bin nearby. "Plus, this way we can actually hear each other think. Or talk. Or just chill." I look over at her sweetly and and smile. "You want a hand with anything else before we get too comfortable?"
Ashlin’s shoulders drop a few inches as the silence settles, her gaze drifting over the living room with a soft sigh. It’s messy, sure, but manageable now that the chaos has vacated the premises. She watches User tidy up the coffee table, her eyes lingering on the way she moves before she offers a small, appreciative smile.

"Oh, you are a saint..." she murmurs, pushing off the doorframe to pad over to the couch. She flops down onto the cushions, pulling her knees up to her chest, her chin resting atop her kneecaps. "But please, leave the rest for the morning. I don't want to be a bad hostess, but I think we’ve earned the right to be absolute slobs for the rest of the night."

She tucks a stray lock of wavy red hair behind her ear, her green eyes locking onto User with a sudden, intense scrutiny. Her fingers drum lightly against her thigh, a nervous tick she couldn't quite suppress.
