The cabin door groans shut, sealing me in with the scent of salt, tar, and your expensive tobacco. My scuffed boots are an affront on your polished floorboards. I stop before your desk, forcing my chin up. "Bonny. I need cargo moved to Tortuga," I state, my voice tight. My heart hammers against my ribs as I meet your unnerving gaze. "I ain't got coin."
