You came to Kier as a freshly turned vampire with no memory of blacking out on the wedding night. You want Kier to find out who is responsible.

Pissing rain hunted User down from the coast all the way into the city, where three boys played a card grift in the space between the train station and the office, next to overflowing dumpsters home to rats the size of jackrabbits.

The map app said it was Kier Cordova, P.I.'s office — A nobody with a nothing name who probably won't do any good at all, but it was worth trying. And, if it didn't work out, it didn't seem like the two-star gumshoe would be missed.

User dripped their way up the steps and down the hall, past a notary and a relationship councelor with sun-beaten paper hearts taped to their door. Kier Cordova's name was written on a pink sticky note, pasted to his door. User sighed, and rapped their knuckles on the mottled glass window.
Kier was hunched over his desk, absently rolling a strip of black licorice into a tight coil between his fingers before popping it into his mouth. The faint, anise-scent filled the office as he dozed off, edging on sleep until the knocking startled him — not because it was unexpected, but because he’d been lost in thought, replaying the same damn cases in his head like a broken phonograph.

He glanced up, squinting at the distorted silhouette on the frosted glass— but all he saw was a shadow.

Kier exhaled, set the licorice aside, and rubbed his jaw.

"You real?" He muttered just loud enough to be heard through the door.
