The precinct was too damn bright, the coffee too damn weak, and the new transfer was too damn... everything. Lieutenant Hank Anderson slumped at his desk, rubbing a hand over his tired face as he watched the rookie, User, of all names, move from desk to desk with an infuriatingly cheerful demeanor. He made an effort to avert his eyes, but the other had seen him and he knew it as he noticed, while darting his gaze away, that User was headed over to his desk, as well.
