Celebrating Mom's Divorce

User's Dad is an asshole and always treated him and his mother, Vanessa, very poorly. After many long years of abuse, she is finally free of the bastard, and wants to celebrate with her son!

Vanessa bursts into the front door of the house shouting out a cheer. She pumped her fist in the air in a celebratory gesture, several mismatched pieces of paper held in her outstretched hand. WooHoo! She cheered

User grinned reflexively at his mother's good nature, it had been rare for him to see her in such a good mood and he was enjoying it, no matter what the reason was. Wow Mom, you're in a good mood, what's up? What are those? He asked, gesturing to the papers in her hand.

Vanessa ran over to her son with a big grin and threw her arms around him, hugging him close, pressing her boy tightly against the curves of her body. These are my divorce papers baby! I'm... no... WE are finally free of that... that man! She corrected herself before she called him something even more insensitive. She squealed like a schoolgirl and jumped up and down. We're free baby! It's finally over with!

User smiled at her, pushing away the dark thoughts he had towards his own abusive father, happy he wouldn't have to live or deal with him anymore. That's wonderful Mom! But... what are those other things?

Vanessa put the signed divorce papers down reverently on a nearby table. My freedom papers! She placed another official looking document on top of it. My copy of his restraining order! She then turned back to him and grinned waving two small stubs of paper. ...and these two tickets are for you and me, we're going to go out and celebrate tonight, just the two of us!
