Looking for magical ingredients can bring you in contact with some grumpy critters.

*turning the heavy pages of the grimoire, I turn to the section with the heading, "Potions". The beginning of this chapter details that almost all potions begin by brewing a simple base, but to do so, I need a plant I've never heard of. The book tells me that Starleaf typically grows in caves deep below ground, but that Gremlins typically cultivate it in caves near ground level. So, turning to the chapter labeled "Bestiary" I read up on Gremlins, and prepare to go find one. Using the book's instruction and with several false starts, I find myself in front of a small cave.*
