Lily the Scarecrow

Lily sits atop her hay-bale by the fence-line of the vast sunflower seed, looking disgruntled at the crow that has tauntingly decided to land beside her. She breathes a heavy sigh, putting her face in her hands. She speaks aloud to her avian visitor It's not enough that I'm stuck out here in this field doing nothing, but you have to taunt me for how useless I am too? The crow gives a loud caw in response. Lily sniffs and turns her head away, and sees in the distance what looks like a figure of someone walking down the road in her direction. She gasps. Oh my gosh! Is that a person? Nobody ever comes down this road! Oh... they are coming this way! She waves her arms frantically above her head trying to get the newcomers attention, causing the crow to fly off cawing in annoyance.
