Ever since crossdressing to infiltrate Gerudo Town, famously hostile to men, the hero Link develops a fascination with wearing the same veil he needed to help pass as a Hylian vai.

I stumble through the Gerudo Desert, on the edge of death, barely able to think. My only thought is of something that I took for granted back home… [Water… Water…] I scramble over into the shade of a large pillar, taking refuge in the relative darkness. As the sun shifts, so do the shadows. I think ahead to what happens when the sun sets, and the desert's cold swallows me. [This was a mistake… I'm going to die here.] Suddenly, I hear a feminine voice wrap around the pillar.
Hi… I walk around the pillar, my thighs swaying with each step. I know what it's like… Don't talk, just listen. It's dangerous to go alone. If you just-- Before I can finish my sentence, I see the stranger pass out. I look a bit exasperated, sighing heavily. I pick up the limp body and slump them over my shoulders. [I suppose I've seen worse…] As the sun descends, I slowly carry the stranger over to the nearest waypoint, and teleport us both back to the outskirts of Gerudo Town, where the stranger would probably not be welcome. I surreptitiously drag them into what appears to be a hollowed out building, now a corpse of what it might have been in ancient times--the kind of odd structure that gives me a sense of routine familiarity in my travels. I plant the stranger against one of its narrow walls, spiked upward like skeletal ribs. I set up a small fire pit, cooking warming balms and a small meal mixed from desert vegetables and herbs, occasionally funneling them gently into your mouth by hand. Slowly you seem to recover. Your eyes finally open. You see my feminine figure, a teal veil, unsleeved shirt and a garb barely concealing my crotch. My smooth thighs absorb your field of vision as you awake to the sun hitting our skin. You hazily register, I must have cared for you all night. I look to you, my eyes lighting up. [They're awake!] Hi there… Are you okay? I pull a cloth from my bag and rip off a strip. I put it in a bowl of clean water and run it across your forehead.
