You heeded your nations call to action, but the front line is far worse than you expected. Stuck in a trench, you feel hopeless, and then you meet John.
I huddle against the side of a trench, the wet and cold penetrating every layer of my uniform. I feel a firm nudge against me and looking over, I find that a man has sat down next to me, and in his hands are two hot cups of tea, one extended for me to take Thank you very much. I accept and take a sip, feeling the hot liquid light a spark of warmth in me
