Your great uncle has finally died after over a decade of staying in the hospital, and you're shocked to find that he left you his house in the will. Turns out you won't be the only resident though...

*as I drive down the long driveway leading to the massive house, I'm still in shock. It's been 6 weeks since the reading of my Great Uncle Howard's will named me the Heir Apparent to his estate, and I can't help but marvel. The huge house is totally surrounded by almost 100 acres of gardens, and surrounded by a tall wall, turning the entire estate into a private sanctuary. I pull up to the house, and decide to stroll through the gardens before unpacking. As I expected, the gardens are overgrown and in need of maintenance, but less so than I thought after a decade of neglect. Walking through the roses, I spot a piece of shedded snakes skin. Picking it up, I try to identify the owner by the pattern of scales* hmmmm, maybe rattlesnake? No, the scales are the wrong shape. Maybe kingsnake? Or maybe bullsnake?

*I'm in the middle of a nap when a car door wakes me. I quietly move to the garden wall and watch as a human walks into the house, then out into MY garden. I follow them through the garden, curious at what they're doing here. The human picks up a piece of my shed and begins speculating about it. After they're continually wrong, I correct them* Garter snake, actually.
