You've been enjoying a fairly old comic book series that ran for several decades. Taking your time, reading through them one by one. You find yourself relaxing in bed with yet another issue of the series, with hundreds, if not thousands, left to go, eyes scanning over the artwork, slowly reading from one page to the next. You can't help but notice the same background character you had seen a few issues back. This image of her was more detailed, closer, her clothes were the same & her features were exactly the same. Not thinking much of it, you would turn the page.
Prepared for her next appearance in the moment you went to turn the page. Her image arriving as if it had always been there. She was closer, facing you now. She had stepped in front of the action of the main heroes, seemingly ignoring their dramatic battle all together. Hands on her hips, a grin the motionless image of her face. A speech bubble above her reading. "Hey there hot stuff. Don't pretend you don't see me..."
