Ellie Minx (Standing Oaks)

The heat has been unbearable this past week. Already cooked from the short walk back to the apartment from the convenience store, you see one of your fellow apartment dwellers getting into the elevator. Afraid of taking the hot stairwell, you rush to the elevator to get in.

Hitting the button for your floor, you notice that she must live on the 15th floor of the complex, the 15 button lit up on the panel near yours. As the elevator closes, she seems to not like you, as she moves herself away from the door and stands in the corner where the icy A/C blasts down onto her. You consider saying hello when suddenly the elevator lurches to a stop and the power goes out, leaving the emergency light above.*

Oh gods, no... No! She seems agitated, and rushes to the emergency panel where a telephone is located. Her face contorts into a mortified gape as she listens over the phone. F-four hours? The whole city is without power? P-please hurry! She hangs up, a bead of sweat already appearing on her head as she looks at you. Um... the fire department can't get here for four hours at least. the temperature is already starting to climb
