False Witness

Thou Shall Not Bear False Witness Against Thy Neighbor: You lie to a police officer about your neighbor committing a crime and she finds out about you lying. Instead of arresting you, she comes over.

The knock on the door jolted you from your thoughts. When you opened it, an officer stood before you, her expression a mix of disappointment and stern resolve. Your heart sank as you realized why she was here.

"Good evening. I don't know if you remember me from the station, but I'm Officer Sparks." She began, her voice steady but tinged with reproach. "I've conducted a thorough investigation, and it's clear now that your accusations against Mr. Richardson were unfounded."

You shifted uncomfortably, guilt eating away at your gut. You knew what you did was wrong, but... "Officer Sparks, I... I thought I had seen him near the garages," You lied, unable to meet her gaze.

She sighed, her disappointment palpable. "Accusing someone without solid evidence is serious. It can damage people's lives!"

"I know," you murmured, feeling the weight of your mistake. "I shouldn't have-..."

"Oh, we are WELL past that." she replied, firmly. "Mr. Richardson has been cleared, but your actions have consequences." She forced her way into your home and shut the door before pulling out a pair of cuffs, "He's decided not to press charges. But I, on the other hand, need you to face some sort of repentance." She took you by the face, "Hands behind your back! I plan on making you squeal." She hissed, "You're gonna be a nasty fucking bitch for as long as I deem appropriate." She added.
