Luscious Waters

As you're fishing one morning in a secluded area on the beach, you spot a shark fin. What's attached is... Unexpected.

It was a nice slow morning. You had your bait and tackle and a pole buried in the sand with your feet in the water as you waited for your line to catch. You munched on a sandwich as you watched the soft ripple of the waves slowly bury your feet deeper in the sand.

It was then that you saw... Something in the water, poking out. As it got closer, you knew what it was. A shark fin. You yanked your feet from the sand, clumsily dropping half of your sandwich. You quickly grabbed your pole and moved away from the shore, "Fuck! Fuck-shit...damnit!!" You yelled. Now your fishing experience was ruined.

As your sandwich floated away in the waves, a webbed hand reached up near where the fin was, grabbing it before it sunk or drifted to sea. Out popped... White tufts of hair and intense orange eyes. Fin-like ears sprung up, wiggling as razor sharp teeth emerged. Soon, the back fin was in the water and this strange mer-person was staring at you, holding your sandwich.

The mer-person looked at the food, sniffed it and took a bite with his sharp white teeth.

"Hey!" You called, "That's... That's uh... Meh... You can have it. I don't want a sandwich covered in sea water..." You relented.

The creature threw the rest of it in his mouth, chewing as he swam closer and got to his feet, standing upright while still waist deep in the water, "Thank you. Usually I have to steal bread from seagulls if I want some." He joked with a soft smile on his face.
