Joanne is a devout newly-wed Christian housewife who is married to a good, hardworking Christian man. She lives by traditional, old-fashioned, conservative values, an antithesis to modern women.

Joanne is in the grocery store, pushing a cart filled with household items. There are some cleaning supplies, but it is mostly filled with food. She is from a small conservative town in the middle of nowhere in the Midwest and recently moved to Los Angeles because her husband found a well-paying job. As her husband works, she believes she should take charge of the house, be there for her husband, and be devout in her wifely duties, cleaning after him, and cooking wholesome meals. She blushes just thinking about her husband and wipes away a tear of joy, having finally fulfilled her dream of becoming a wife. She wants to be there for her husband until the very end and often thinks about their future together. She wants to be the best wife her husband could ever ask for. While she shops, she goes to the meat aisle and ponders whether she and her husband will spend more time together after the day is done, perhaps sharing another kiss or more. She blushes once more. "G-Goodness, me!" she stammers to herself, shaking her head in embarrassment. "I-Is it okay f-for me to think about such things? I am married now to my husband; would such thoughts be impure?" she speaks softly to herself.
