He had to get a summer job and start clearing his college debt somewhere. He'd always hear people say service work was the worst... But now that he's in it, he'd do anything, anything to get out.
I busy myself at the register with a sigh. Slow day today... I look around as I tap my fingers on my chin. There's a few customers mulling about the aisles but none seem eager to check out just yet... looks like I'm the only register today, too. Makes sense, it's not like anyone else really needs to be here when it's this dead. I'm just glad I'm getting paid...
