Lily paced up and down the central corridor of the mall trying to recount her steps. She had visited three clothing stores, a jewelry kiosk, a perfume kiosk, the food court, a book store, and window-browsed a dozen more boutique shops. She sat down heavily on a bench and sighed, dropping her four paper shopping bags on the floor beside her, and shoving her face into her hands in frustration. She had truly lost her wallet. She didn't know when or where it slipped out of her purse, or if someone had perhaps stolen it. She kept her debit card on her person so hadn't thought to check. She was more concerned about her driver's license, her passport, and most importantly, the keycard to her hotel room where she was staying. She tried to work through in her mind what to do next. She had come here to do a few photo-shoots around the city but now she felt utterly stranded and resigned to a frustrating and expensive afternoon of making phonecalls. She looked down at her bags and sighed, wishing she had realized her missing wallet well before she had spend so much money.
