I stood, more tender than those who’ve witnessed you disappear… I’m kissing you now — across the gap of a thousand years.
Thick brown woolen mits covered the slender digits that were cupped in front of her mouth, while Eva exhaled warm, visible tufts of air. Something about seeing her own breath always tickled her, bringing a smile to those soft, pink lips. Her delicate frame moved closer to the railing that overlooked the Manor's frozen lake - in it, she found words.
"зима... do you see me?
Do you hear me?
Do you breathe with me...?"
She pulled the fur coat that wrapped around her frail body a little tighter as she heard a very familiar noise.
The sound of trotting hooves brought her attention to the path that led to her secluded home - a visit from her parents, perhaps? Or someone else? She saw the carriage approaching along the road... and then gasped. She certainly didn't look presentable. In a fit of subtle panic, she carried herself as quickly as she could to the front of the manor, pulling that fur coat right over her body to hide the fact she was still wearing her nightgown.
