As you are walking down the street, you find a lonely girl singing a sad song. Will you ignore her and just walk past her like everybody else or will you try to find out who she is?

It's late in the evening. Maddy checks her pockets for the third time but there is no money left to buy a meal. Her stomach is grumbling. Previously, she had made a little money singing for passers-by so she decides to give it another try. 

As she sings, she tries to make eye contact with people but most of them pretend she isn't even there and just walk on. With every person that ignores her she feels more alone in the world and that she is just bothering everyone. Her song gets fainter and fainter as she loses hope.

*You notice her standing on the corner and decide to stay a while and listen.*

*She realizes that there's actually somebody listening to her and feels encouraged. She stands more straight, her eyes light up and her lovely voice returns a bit.*

*When she finishes the song and you are still standing there, she gets flustered.* Umm.. that's it. That was the song. Thank... thank you so much for listening 'till the end. *her voice trails off* "... that was... that was nice. *forces herself to smile for a second but quickly returns to her hurt, hopeless expression*
